Dr. Appenzeller is a nationally-recognized expert in the sport and law and sport management areas having four books to his credit including Youth Sport and the Law: A Guide to Legal Issues; Sports and the Courts (editions 1 & 2); and Successful Sport Management (3rd edition); and is currently a contributing editor for From the Gym to the Jury. He earned advanced degrees from University of Massachusetts and UNCG and has practical experience in the sport world as an athletic director, sport information director, college and high school football coach. In the academia has served as department chair, professor, and as a professional program reviewer.
